END OF LIFE DOULA
What is an End of Life Doula?
An End of Life Doula is a non-medical support person who provides emotional, spiritual, and practical guidance to individuals and their loved ones during the dying process. Much like a birth doula supports the beginning of life, an End of Life Doula supports the closing chapter with presence, compassion, and dignity.
End-of-Life Doulas can:
- Offer a calm, supportive presence for both the individual and their family.
- Help with legacy projects, life review, or meaningful rituals.
- Provide education about the natural stages of dying to reduce fear and uncertainty.
- Assist in creating personalized comfort plans for the final days.
- Support caregivers with resources, rest, and compassionate listening.
- Hold space for conversations around grief, closure, and acceptance.
As part of my doula care, I also offer massage therapy for comfort and relaxation, assistance with groceries, light housekeeping, and providing personal care when needed. These services allow individuals and families to focus on spending meaningful time together, while I help tend to the details and daily needs with compassion.
*My role is not to replace medical care, but to complement hospice and palliative services, ensuring that no one has to face this tender journey alone.
Pricing
Because every individual and family’s needs are unique, I begin with a complementary initial interview with both the patient (if able) and their loved ones. During this conversation, we will talk about what services and supports would be most meaningful — whether that includes massage therapy, companionship, light housekeeping, errands, or personal care.
From there, we can create a customized plan of care, and I will provide clear pricing based on the specific services chosen.
My goal is to ensure that families feel supported, comfortable, and cared for during this tender time.
